Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of regional Service Center Managers and indirect supervision of all service advisors, technicians and administrative team members.
- Ensure adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the company’s fleet.
- Develop and enforce procedures, policies and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of direct and overhead budgets for the fleet.
- Liaison with counterparts in Sales, Equipment Maintenance, Finance/Administration, Safety/Training and Human Resources at the corporate level.
- Implement company goals in fleet management, including Quality Assurance, Productivity and Efficiency levels, Customer Service, Administrative, Safety and others as may be determined.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of Long Range/Strategic goals of the company as they relate to operations.
- Assure the objectivity and integrity of fleet employees, including strict compliance with all rules and regulations under which the Company operates.
- Execute programs to assure the company’s status as a quality transportation provider.
- Comply with all government regulations and the necessary reporting requirements to include DOT, FMSCA, and general safety knowledge.
- Working closely with training department, move the department from reactive to proactive and produce solutions through continuous training and improvement.
Necessary Experience & Qualifications:
- Five to ten years of experience in Fleet Management.
- AS-400/Hemispheres experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and use proprietary software.
- Extensive knowledge of Fleet Management and Operations, as well as supervisory experience with driver managers, fleet managers and operations support.
- Ability to prepare and manage to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses where possible.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze trends and produce solutions.
- Servant leadership experience with strong leadership skills.
- Effective safety knowledge and an unrelenting commitment to safety.
- Active participation in trucking industry boards and associations is preferred.
