Primary Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
- Work closely with the managers & owners to ensure positions are filled quickly and efficiently.
- Partner with managers to create onboarding plans for new hires.
- Plan and execute onsite & offsite job fairs as well visits to high schools and technical schools.
- Maintain applicant tracking system, which includes requisition creation, posting positions, and managing candidate activity.
- Manage the hiring process, including screening, coordination of interviews, offer letters, etc.
- Work with shop managers & local business agents to fill union employment roles.
- Partners and communications with managers to determine staffing needs, retention initiatives, and interviewing best practices.
- Ensure all required new hire paperwork (application, background checks, I-9, etc.) is completed for new hires. Generate key cards for new employees.
Employee Relations and Performance Management:
- Identify and monitor the organization’s culture so that it supports the attainment of the company’s goals and promotes a positive employee experience.
- Oversee drug testing program including pre-employment & random testing.
- Assist employees and supervisors through challenging situations including safety prevention and harassment training.
- Assist with investigations, discipline, and coaching/counseling as needed.
- Support assigned teams through biannual performance management processes creating a culture of coaching and improvement.
- Ensure compliance with EEO, AAP, OSHA, WC, Unemployment, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Manage the termination process which includes: exit process and addressing any non-compete concerns.
- Facilitate & assist owners with the professional and hourly performance review processes.
- Support, communicate, and track employee title, department, compensation changes and terminations with the payroll and benefits team. Oversee all employee files.
- Administer Leave of Absence and Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Provide reports and analysis on various employee data as required by location leadership.
- Work with legal counsel to keep updated employee handbooks for both office & union employees.
Other:
- Support company staff by establishing a recruiting and interviewing program, counseling managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews and recommending changes.
- Conduct orientation and training programs for new employees.
- Pre-employment paperwork and drug screen process.
- Assist managers with conducting job evaluations, individual pay structures and actions.
- Monitor work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees when needed. Resolving employee grievances.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, maintain all records. Including proper Labor Laws.
- Work with the CFO and owners on employee benefit programs. Process benefit claims.
- Accident Prevention and Harassment training.
- Retain historical human resource records. Maintain current records.
- Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field. Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- 5-7 years of experience in progressively more responsible HR roles.
- 3+ years in a supervisory role.
