Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
• Oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning and efficient management.
• Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization, including grant writing, fundraising initiatives, and cultivating donor relationships.
• Oversee marketing and other communication efforts to raise awareness of the organization and its impact in the community.
• Develop and implement comprehensive programs that fulfill the organization’s mission of assisting with homelessness.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
• Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the mission of the organization.
• Oversee the financial operations of the organization, including budget development and oversight, and ensure maximum resource utilization.
• Engage with the local community and act as the face of the organization, including speaking at public events.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and filings.

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Services, or related field. An advanced degree in Nonprofit Management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of senior nonprofit management experience.
• Proven track record of effectively leading an outcomes-based organization and staff.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and community outreach.
• Strong public speaking ability, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of financial management in a nonprofit setting.
• Understanding of homelessness issues and a passion for the mission of the organization.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performance team.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government officials, and community leaders.
• Exceptional organizational skills, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.

The Executive Director is the key management leader of this nonprofit organization, whose mission is to assist with homelessness within Greater Nashville. This role is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plans of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

This individual will act as the guiding force of the organization and represent the mission and values of the nonprofit to the community. This individual should have a deep passion for making a difference, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to manage both the strategic and operational aspects of the organization.
