Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation of the layout and the necessary documents such as 3D drawings, detail drawings (in-house or 3rd party) and reviewing engineering documents (3rd party)
  • Creation of pipeline plans for WSR or ETP projects (if required/in-house or 3rd party) including pre-planning routes, defining pipeline groups, defining routing and modeling in 3D, modeling auxiliary systems (pumps, compressors, etc.), creating pipeline isometrics, creating pipeline BOM, engineering pipeline mounts
  • Spatial location planning for switchgear and connection points
  • Location and route planning for cable routes
  • Reviewing and discussing the engineering documents with project management and the customer (gate meeting); reviewing plant planning based on the ‘Installation Checklist’
  • Transferring the documents and briefing on-site personnel; providing construction-site and calibration drawings
  • Storing all engineering documents in line with the company’s systematics
  • Visiting and surveying the available installation space together with project management and the customer by means of on-site measurements or laser scanning to document and define the installation space
  • For new plants, clarifying the guidelines for the installation space through cooperative teamwork with project management and the customer and determining the framework conditions for the installation
  • Spatial planning of machines, components, plant modules, etc. in the defined project installation space in 3D CAD, including all auxiliary structures
  • Coordination of safety inspection of predesigned layout and also installation and assembly processes of the predesigned layout in line with the ‘six-eyes principle’ prior to finalization and creation of master or detail 3D layout drawings depending on the project requirements
  • Provide engineering services (especially for upgrades of existing plants) as services that create added value for the company

Necessary Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical or process engineer or related field
  • Understanding of industrial processes, rotating machinery, good plant design practice
  • Experience working with 3D plant design is required (Autodesk Navisworks)
  • Knowledge skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Plant 3D, Recap, Vault, and Faro Scene software
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is a plus
  • Experience with P&IDs, mass balances (Excel, CADSIM, FloMac), friction loss calculations and pump sizing is a plus
  • Knowledge of process piping design and industrial control systems is a plus
  • Ability to travel to job sites for field measurements (approximately 10%)
  • Strong desire to learn new technical areas (3D Scanning)
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask is essential
