Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of a project from conception to start-up, often multiple projects and schedules
  • Definition, communication, and documentation of all expectations between different internal teams and customer involved in a project
  • Project Management is responsible to execute all steps of internal project process according to corporate documentation requirements and internal operational controls
  • Project Management Department is the primary and responsible customer interface and, therefore, must keep continuous contact and communication with the customer’s project manager, engineering department, logistic department, operations manager, and all other relevant customer interfaces.
  • Maintain detailed understanding of and control over all contractual details such as:
    • Technical specifications, scope and delivery schedule of all technical documents
    • Engineering services, scope and schedule of all equipment
    • Hardware deliveries, contractual penalties, general project timeline and key milestones
    • Performance specification, warranties, and penalties
    • Coordination of the creation and delivery of operating manuals to customers, included services on-site such as assembly supervision, commissioning, check out, start up, process optimization, etc.
  • Obtain a detailed understanding of all commercial and economic contract conditions including, but not limited to project cost calculation, detailed economic factors, project cash flow, and value-add, costs, risks and change order management
  • Secure the project execution quality by verifying and controlling that the following documents are executed / worked through internal operational controls before final execution including:
    • Project Design
    • Process and Layout/Installation checklist with respective internal departments
  • Resource and personnel planning to execute all necessary contractual project tasks, initialization of necessary tasks, and supervision of all necessary tasks including time control and reporting to principles and management, in the event there is a potential risk for delay
  • Resource and personnel planning to execute all contractual on-site targets and tasks (assembly/and erection, commissioning, check out, startup, etc.) with Aftermarket, Service, and Process Engineering Departments
  • Manage claims including, but not limited to, monitoring of all additional, missing, or extraordinary scope in material or services and regularly communicating and documenting with customer to enable the company to be compensated for adjustments
  • Ensure that all relevant documents, e.g., technical, engineering, commercial, on-site timesheets etc., are stored in the correct location within VAULT
  • Coordinate the creation and delivery of operating manuals to customers
  • Hold regularly scheduled project meetings for single or multiple projects

Necessary Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years’ work experience leading medium to large size projects
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Prefer PMI Certification
  • Prefer candidates with work experience in Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer combined with Project Management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of standard project management tools and executing big industrial and plant engineering projects
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing/P&IDs/layout drawings
  • Understanding of industrial and manufacturing processes
  • Ability and willingness to travel. Travel may be up to 30% during certain periods of the project(s).
  • Strong organizational skills and disciplined use of project procedures
  • Strong problem and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Carries oneself in a professional and polished demeanor
  • Knowledge of Auto Cad Plant 3D and Autodesk Inventor would be a plus
  • Understanding of industrial wastewater concepts is a plus
  • Understanding of material handling and process equipment in the paper industry is a plus
