Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Identify potential suppliers, screen them, and negotiate advantageous terms.
- Regularly review supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and to assess potential improvements or necessary changes.
- Analyze current procurement activities on the plant floor and recommend improvements through more efficient procurement methods, quantity discounts, standardization, value analysis, or cooperative purchasing.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular cost and scenario analyses to forecast market trends.
- Develop risk management procedures to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders such as the production and engineering teams to clarify specifications, evaluate bids, and make award recommendations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or similar certification is a plus.
- Proven working experience as a Purchasing Agent, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
- Proficient in vendor management and sourcing with a track record of effective negotiation and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with precision parts and related manufacturing needs.
- Demonstrable ability to use key software, including Microsoft Office Suite and procurement applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
