This organization is in the market for a seasoned professional who thrives in the field of Accounting! As the Controller of their swiftly expanding company, you will spearhead a dynamic team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this critical role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of their business’s operational structure. This position demands a veteran leader who:

  • Exhibits profound knowledge and expertise in accounting principles and control mechanisms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Spearheading the strategy and execution of all accounting functions.
  • Overseeing the compilation and consolidation of all essential financial data to ensure precise and timely accounting of business outcomes.
  • Leading the coordination and preparation of internal and external financial statements.
  • Facilitating the month-end closing process, orchestrating research, and rectifying journal entries for account discrepancies, preparing closing journal entries, posting accrual entries, and conducting detailed variance analysis.
  • Conducting comprehensive reviews of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Evaluating, optimizing, and overseeing the accounting and internal control systems.
  • Ensuring the optimal functionality of accounting software and supporting databases.
  • Leading the coordination activities with external auditors.
  • Directing regulatory reporting, inclusive of tax planning and compliance.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of a robust fixed asset system and capital budgeting process.
  • Playing a significant role in the formulation and review of the annual budget and performance forecasts.
  • Recruiting, nurturing, and retaining a skilled team of professionals.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience, preferably in a leadership role.
  • CPA and/or other relevant professional licenses are preferred.
  • An unyielding passion for accounting and financial stewardship.
  • Extensive experience in overseeing complex accounting structures.
  • Expertise in implementing stringent timelines and controls.
  • Mastery in tax planning and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and adaptability.
  • Process-driven with a keen focus on time management.
  • Adept at establishing controls with meticulous monthly timelines.
  • Proven experience managing and expanding large teams.
  • Initiating and leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
