The Conceptual Estimator role is designed for an experienced estimator looking to enhance their capabilities and impact. This role is pivotal in the Pre-Construction process, responsible for creating detailed budgets, and high-level budgets, and shaping the final bid solution. The Conceptual Estimator is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of construction practices, be able to interpret a full set of construction documents, recognize and mitigate risk, and be proficient with estimating programs and software. This individual will also contribute to continuous learning and improvement within the team. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop high-level and detailed budgets for proposals and projects.
• Execute quantity takeoffs on projects and update budgets accordingly.
• Perform value engineering on projects to adhere to budgets.
• Contribute to the Pre-Construction Process, developing an estimating strategy.
• Identify potential risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
• Develop and implement the final bid day solution.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Construction-related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 4 to 7 years of experience in estimating or a project management role, ideally with commercial construction projects.
• Experience in conceptual estimating.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to rapidly analyze, interpret, and compare complex and often vague information.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Self-confident and assertive, comfortable presenting to various audience types.
• Familiarity with public and private bidding practices is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, estimating software, PDFs, and OST.
• Strong organizational skills.
