Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee the management of the recruitment and selection process to ensure the organization attracts, retains, and motivates the best employees.
  • Support organizational development initiatives, including performance management, employee development, succession planning, and workplace culture.
  • Develop and monitor the HR department’s budget.
  • Develop and implement compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, keeping abreast of employment law related to day-to-day management of employees, and reduce legal risks.
  • Develop and oversee employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health programs.
  • Nurture a positive working environment where employees feel valued and engaged.
  • Develop HR policies and procedures and ensure they are consistently applied across the organization.

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification (such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to implement HR strategy that aligns with the business strategy.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, including the ability to manage a team and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and handle sensitive situations tactfully.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR metrics and ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High ethical standards and an ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. This role provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders, and the Board of Directors.

This is a key strategic role that ensures the company’s most valuable assets, its people, are effectively managed and supported. This role requires a leader who can balance the strategic and operational aspects of HR and continuously align HR practices with the organization’s strategic goals.
